We have a dedicated prototyping department employing highly skilled staff, with their own equipment and workshop area. This gives us the capability to produce complex prototypes for clients both quickly and accurately, easing their prototype development significantly.

Cutting and Punching

Our Cutting and Punching equipment includes:

  • CNC Laser Cutting Trumpf L2530 2.4 Kilowatt class one laser (Sheet size 2500 x 1250 x 15mm). Tube lasering capability.
  • CNC Punch Trumpf Trumatic 2000R Turret punch.
  • CAD/CAM programming extra 2 Offline seats linked via DNC.
  • Cutting Pearson Guillotine with capable of cutting 6mm material.
  • Saw VEM 315mm Circular cut-off saw.
  • Notching 200 x 4mm corner notcher.

Our forming equipment includes:

  • Trumpf Trumabend V85S 2500mm, 110 tonne, 8 axis CNC folder
  • LVD PPEB-8 110/3050 3000mm, 110 Tonne, 4 Axis CNC Folder

  • K.B. 2500mm, 90 Tonne, 2 Axis CNC Folder

Powder Coating

Saiston Sheet Metal Ltd. has considerable expertise and experience in the powder coating business. Having modern in-house facilities is the starting point, but our excellent staff and quality control processes ensure that our powder coating sets the industry standard for quality and consistency of finish. With a huge range of colours and textures stocked and with colour matching facilities available, we can provide all finishes our clients require. You will also find us extremely competitive in our pricing policies.

We use a state of the art fully conveyorised Powder Coating system, incorporating online 3 stage degreasing and Iron Phosphate pre-treatment. This is capable of turning around large quantities of work in a very short time and the pre-treatment gives a clean and receptive surface imperative for excellent paint finish.

Packaging

At Saiston Sheet Metal Ltd. we pack our products intelligently, using a variety of different methods to protect them. Goods being damaged in transit are an annoyance to all parties involved, delaying projects, adding complication and badly reflecting on suppliers. We will follow specific clients' requirements or we can help design customised solutions for projects needing special treatment, such as those being delivered direct to site.

Delivery

Once packed, delivery depends on the nature of the project. We have our own transport which we use to deliver to clients all over the UK. We use third party transport providers for projects requiring larger deliveries, and we have the space to accommodate containers for overseas transport. It is common for a member of our team to personally deliver samples and prototypes during project development.
